From the editor's desk!
Welcome to the latest issue of the High Tech AIDCourier.
This month's newsletter seems to have been the toughest to get out the
door so far. The news just keeps on coming and there doesn't seem to be any
end in sight. This month we reviewed almost 5,000 news articles to bring you
this issue.
But the good news is that we are seeing very steady progress and that
AIDC and RFID in particular are seeing acceptance in many new places. There
is even very positive news on the RFID standards front (see below). Summer
is coming fast here in the northern hemisphere and we don't expect to see
any slow down in the progress of the technologies.
As always, providing this newsletter is just a part of what we have to offer here
at High Tech Aid. When your problem needs have you overwhelmed, then you
need to get help and that is why we are here. We specialize in education,
but the spectrum of services is much greater than that. Call or email us
for more information. Visit the web site www.hightechaid.com
for more information on basic technology details as well as many other
things.
E-mail me at news@hightechaid.com
and tell us what you think. Don’t forget to send this issue to your
friends so that they can sign up for their own issue of the free newsletter
at www.hightechaid.com.
If you have news to share or info you need, let me know
at news@hightechaid.com.

RFID Standards
Some great news this month. ISO has at last started the final ballots
on three of the 18000 series. Parts 4 (2.45 GHz), 6 (860 - 960 MHz) and
7 (433 MHz) have all started their FDIS ballot. Parts 1, 2 and 3
shouldn't be far behind.
On the EPCglobal™ front things are continuing to move forward. We have
passed the date for submissions to be considered as candidates for the new
Generation 2 specification. Now the hard work comes trying to bring
the submissions together and get consensus.
If you want more information on ISO standardization or on
any issue of RFID standardization, then email steve@hightechaid.com.
