From the editor's desk!
Welcome to the latest issue of the High Tech AIDCourier.
As the summer starts to wane we continue to see the news flying in. RFID in
particular has been getting some interesting press with the decision of
Alien Technology to pull their IPO in the last few hours before it happened
(see below). What does this mean for the industry? Are we seeing the first
signs of a negative turn?
On the positive side, I am seeing some evidence that more companies are
starting to pay attention to the need for AIDC technologies. Not just RFID,
but bar code and other forms of automation. This month I have been a part of
several industry brain-storming sessions. We discussed the type of future
applications that will hopefully showcase the need for better data capture
techniques.
Providing this newsletter is just a part of what we have to offer here at
High Tech Aid. When your problem needs have you overwhelmed, then you need
to get help and that is why we are here. We specialize in education, but the
spectrum of services is much greater than that. Call or email us for more
information. Visit the web site
www.hightechaid.com for more information on basic technology details as
well as many other things.
E-mail me at editor@hightechaid.com
and tell us what you think. Don’t forget to send this issue to your friends
so that they can sign up for their own issue of the free newsletter at
www.hightechaid.com. If you have
news to share or info you need, let me know at
news@hightechaid.com.
RFID Standards
The summer is winding down and activities in the standard
world are starting to wind up. This month several standards meetings took
place and work is again progressing forward in the standards world. Meetings
at both ANSI and ISO levels this month have been working on RFID and bar
code standards.
If you are interested in any of the above or want more information, contact
me at standards@hightechaid.com.
